MoU Between CST and BPC

 

The College of Science and Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bhutan Power Corporation on 17th November 2021. The parties from both the institutions met through a zoom meeting to exchange their expectations from the MoU and sign the MoU. The Chief Executive Officer of Bhutan Power Corporation, Mr Sonam Tobjey and the President of CST, Dr Cheki Dorji signed the MoU in presence of the officials from both BPC and CST virtually.

Bhutan Power Corporation has been providing support to CST and its students in terms of resource assistance through guest lectures and joint supervision for final year student projects and providing On-Job-Training and internship opportunities to the students of CST. The signing of the MoU further strengthened the relations between the two institutions and aims to drive innovation and collaborative research and encourage applied technical knowledge and skill.

The Objectives of the MoU are:

  1. To promote joint research activities to enhance the institutional capacity of BPC

and CST in understanding scientific knowledge in the field of Electrical Power

Systems.

  1. To explore and assist in developing mechanisms that will serve to encourage and

enhance cooperative work between the Parties in areas of mutual interest.

  1. To encourage access and use of scientific equipment and facilities of parties to

promote research activities.

  1. To promote opportunities for faculties and graduate students to undertake pragmatic

research activities.
