The College of Science and Technology has successfully conducted a three-day training on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) in the Built Environment from 29 September to 1 October 2025. The programme focused on practical and sustainable design approaches such as bioswales, rain gardens/bioretention systems, permeable pavements, green walls, and wetlands. A total of 40 engineers from Dzongkhags, Thromdes, as well as staff from the College of Natural Resources and Jigme Namgyal Engineering College participated in the training. The main objectives were to strengthen technical capacity in designing climate-resilient infrastructure, promote collaboration among professionals, and deepen understanding of NbS principles and their applications in infrastructure planning. This initiative, part of the ECRUL 2025–2031 project funded by GEF in partnership with UNDP and implemented by the Royal Government of Bhutan, plays a vital role in building national expertise for future NbS-related projects.
