RUB Annual Faculty Meet 2026

The RUB Annual Faculty Meet is envisioned as a transformative platform to harness the creativity, experience, and collective wisdom of the University’s distinguished faculty members. The inaugural Meet will be organised as “A Hundred Ideas Summit” to inspire the faculty to reimagine the future of the University through transformative ideas. By bringing together the entire faculty of all RUB colleges, the Summit aims to foster collaboration, encourage innovation, and generate 100 actionable ideas that can help transform the Royal University of Bhutan in areas ranging from operational efficiency to academic excellence, research, global engagement, and branding.

The key objectives of the Summit are:

  1. To generate 100 innovative and practical ideas that can strengthen and transform RUB.
  2. To foster collaboration and collegiality among RUB faculty across colleges and disciplines.
  3. To create a vibrant space for meaningful dialogue, professional growth, and shared vision for the future of RUB.

The inaugural RUB Annual Faculty Meet will be held at the College of Science and Technology, Phuentsholing, from 20-22 December 2025. Detailed provisions of the program are as below:

Day 1 (20/12/2025)
  1. 09:00 to 10:00 ( Plenary: Opening & Keynotes).
  2. 10:00 to 10:45 (Coffee break).
  3. 10:45 to 13:00 (Group formation, Intro, and Nomination of group facilitator).
  4. 13:00 to 14:00 (Lunch break)
  5. 14:00 to 15:00 (Group work session 1: Problem Identification).
  6. 15:00 to 16:00 (Tea break)
  7. 16:00 to 17:00 (Continue with group work session 1: Problem Identification).
  8. 17:30 to 19:00 (PC to design and update).
  9. 19:30 to 20:30 (Fireside chat and Pc to design and update)
  10. 20:30 (Dinner and end of day one)

  1. 07:00 to 08:00 (PC to design and update).
  2.  08:00 to 09:00 (Breakfast).
  3. 09:00 to 12:30 (Group work session 2: Idea development).
  4. 12:30 to 13:30 (Lunch break)
  5.  13:30 to 15:00 (World cafe: Cross-Pollination of ideas).
  6. 15:00 to 15:45 (Coffee break).
  7. 15:45 to 18:45 (Group work session 3: Finalise idea, draft abstract and slide).
  8. 19:00 to 20:30 (PC to design and update).
  9. 20:30 (Dinner and end of day 2).

  2.  08:00 to 09:00 (Breakfast).
  3. 09:00 to 10:30 (Group work session 4: Finalise Abstract and slides).
  4. 10:30 to 11:00 (Coffee break)
  5. 11:00 to 13:30 (Elevator pitch rounds)
  6. 13:30 to 14:45 (Lunch break)
  7.  14:45 to 16:45 (Grand Finale: Top 15 ideas to be presented at the plenary, and the Top-5 Ideas to be selected (5 mins
    pitching + 3 mins Q&A)).
  8. 16:45 to 17:15 (Coffee break).
  9. 17:15 to 18:15 (Closing Plenary and Recognition).
  10. 18:30 onwards (Closing dinner and entertainment).

The program is structured to balance plenary sessions with small-group work, as well as fun and meaningful activities that build energy and community. Each of the 100 groups will work intensively over the three days to develop a single idea, culminating in a 500-word abstract and a presentation slide deck. Plenary sessions will bring all participants together to share insights.
