Training on Modelling in Water Resource Management under ECRUL Project

The College of Science and Technology successfully conducted a five-day Training on Modelling in Water Resource Management from 8 to 12 December 2025. It was resourced by Mr. Tandin Wangchuk, Dy. Chief Hydro-Met Officer and Mr. Ugyen Chophel, Dy. Chief Statistical Officer, National Center for Hydrology and Meteorology (NCHM). This training was aimed to strengthen technical capacity of the faculty and technicians of the Water Resources Engineering and Civil Engineering Programmes at the college. This programme provided in-depth analysis and hands-on learning of hydrological modelling using HEC-HMS and R for Sustainable water resource management and hazard assessment.

The training was conducted as a part of Enhancing the Climate Resilience of Urban Landscapes and Communities in the Thimphu-Paro region of Bhutan (ECRUL 2025–2031) funded by GEF in partnership with UNDP and implemented by the Royal Government of Bhutan, aimed to strengthen technical capacity for climate-resilient planning and disaster risk reduction.
