Course Summary
The four-year Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Geology programme provides students with the expertise to apply geological knowledge in engineering and construction projects. It emphasizes the investigation, planning, and execution of projects while assessing geological factors that influence site selection, design, construction, and maintenance. The curriculum covers earth structure, mineral physics, landforms, geophysical processes, geomorphology, hydrology, and seismic hazards, alongside practical fieldwork and geotechnical investigations.
Graduates will be able to conduct detailed site and subsurface studies, perform risk assessments, design safe underground and surface structures, and provide engineering solutions to mitigate natural hazards. They will also be equipped to contribute to sustainable development by integrating geoenvironmental, geotechnical, and hazard management principles into project planning and execution.
